What you will learn
Why the blank page feels so intimidating
We will talk about perfectionism, pressure, and the idea that a sketchbook does not need to be impressive to be meaningful.
How to choose the simple things worth drawing
For this first time, I will provide you with a reference image and you will follow along the smooth process of capturing what you see.
Build your first simple sketchbook page
You will draw along with me using loose warm-ups, simple shapes, a small composition, and optional notes around the drawing.

Hello, I'm Emma LouiseĀ
I love creating pieces that feel warm, observational, a little nostalgic, and full of personality. Through myĀ sketchbooks, prints, originals, and commissions, Iām always drawn to the small things that make a place orĀ moment feel special.
In The Everyday Pages, Iāll be sharing my sketchbook process with you and showing you how to turn theĀ world around you into drawings, from everyday objects and cosy corners to cafĆ©s, streets, travelĀ memories, and quiet little scenes.
My approach is relaxed, beginner-friendly, and full of encouragement. No pressure to make everythingĀ perfect, just a sketchbook, a few simple materials, and a little time away from the scroll to notice, draw,Ā and create something that feels like you.
